Lenzing Extends Management Board Mandate of Friedrich Weninger

Austria, Sep 27, 2011 - The Supervisory Board of Lenzing AG has extended the Management Board mandate of Friedrich Weninger (54) for a further three years until the end of 2014. Friedrich Weninger serves as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is accordingly responsible for the business operations of the Lenzing Group (except Engineering). Friedrich Weninger has been working for Lenzing for 22 years.

ANDRITZ Acquires NSC Nonwoven, France and China

Austria, Sep 21, 2011 - International technology Group ANDRITZ has signed a contract to acquire NSC Group’s nonwoven division encompassing its affiliates Asselin-Thibeau (Elbeuf, France) and NSC Wuxi (Wuxi, China).

The acquired companies have approximately 200 employees and generate aggregate annual sales of about 40 MEUR. It was agreed not to disclose the purchase price; the contract is subject to approval by the relevant authorities and is expected to come in force during the fourth quarter of 2011.

Metsä-Botnia Participates in Plans to Construct a Biorefinery in Joutseno

Finland, Sep 6, 2011 - Metsä-Botnia, part of Metsäliitto Group, is participating in a feasibility study with energy companies Gasum and Helsingin Energia into constructing a biorefinery for biogas production in Joutseno, southeastern Finland. If realised, the biorefinery would produce biogas from renewable wood raw material for transmission to usage sites such as Helsinki Energy’s Vuosaari power plant via the Finnish natural gas network.
