The project “Research into the Organization of Private Forest Owners’ Interest Associations in the Western Balkan Region (PRIFORT)” focused on the following four countries of the Western Balkan region: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia.

Oxenøen, Norway, May 3, 2011 - Norske Skog sells forest areas in Brazil as part of the work to improve the company's financial position

Norske Skog has entered into an agreement with CMNPAR Four Participacoes S.A., a Brazilian company advised by Global Forest Partners LP, a US based, SEC registered investment advisor, for the sale of around 21 500 hectares of forest in Brazil, of which 10 500 hectares are productive forest.

The impacts of climate change will be felt all over the world, in developed and developing countries alike. At risk are billions of dollars but more importantly the lives and livelihoods of millions of people. Corruption cannot be allowed to jeopardise efforts to combat climate change.
