  • The number one primary source of energy is bark or wood waste
     
  • One respondent claimed wind as their primary source of energy
     
  • Six respondents use methane produced from landfill or effluent
     
  • 14% of respondents reported their primary source of fuel has changed in the past year
     
  • 80% of respondents claim to be in control of their energy costs now or will be in the near future
     
  • 26% of respondent say it is highly likely or very likely energy costs will force their mill to close within the next then years
     
  • The number of largest input costs was cited as raw materials by 79% of respondents
     
  • 68% say their total energy needs are sourced within the country where their mill is located
     
  • 30% of respondents do no hedging of purchased energy
