Study about climate change impacts on forests completed
To offset the effects of climatic change and global warming in the country, the Pakistan Forests Institute (PFI), Peshawar has completed a comprehensive study to determine the climatic change scenarios in Pakistan’s various ecological zones and its impact on forests resources.

Sudan Strategy on Climate Change to be Presented to the UN in September
UNEP-Sudan and Forests National Corporation (FNC) with partnership with the British Council conducted a one day validation workshop on “Sudan Reducing Mission from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) strategy” on 7th March 2012, at FNC-Sahel Hall in Khartoum.
"The link between deforestation and climate change is well known and estimated to cause between 25-30 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions - and excessive demand for wood is one of the main causes of forest destruction ."
