Ghana government approves new forest, wildlife policy
The Cabinet of the Ghana government has approved a revised forest and wildlife policy to enable the country to consolidate and maximise benefits derived from products and services of the forest and wildlife sector.

A country needs assessment on REDD+ was commissioned by the UN-REDD Programme following a decision of its Policy Board that such an assessment be conducted to enable it to review its policies and align the Programme’s support with the priority needs of countries.
A report by the non-governmental organization Global Witness says more than 60 percent of the West African nation's rainforests have been granted to logging companies in the past six years. The group has found evidence of fraud and misconduct within Liberia's logging sector.
