Italy, Jan 10, 2011 - One month after having installed a new PMT SMARNIP® mini shoe press, the 4.5 m wide PM6 at Mondi Frantschach (A) has broken the speed world record of sackkraft paper machines, producing for over 24 hours in a row at 1002 m/min at pope-reel, in November 2010.

The successful cooperation between Mondi Frantschach and PMT Italia started in 2009 with the installation of a new M4 headbox and a new PMT shoe press on PM7, producing MG papers at a maximum speed of 450 m/min.

The results are now available of the public consultation on the EC Green Paper on Forest Protection and Information in the EU: Preparing forests for climate change. The consultation was opened on 1 March 2010, and at the closure of the consultation on 31 July 2010, 261 responses had been received.

Production is set to start at Braviken Sawmill, the largest in Scandinavia according to a pressrelease from the company. The first log for a customer order was cut up in the sawmill on 12 January 2011.
