The annual event is part of UPM’s partnership with ENO, a global virtual school and network for sustainable development. Graz, Austria, Feb 14, 2011 - International technology Group ANDRITZ and Montes del Plata, a joint venture company of Stora Enso and Arauco, are in advanced negotiations towards concluding a contract for supply of production technologies and equipment for the new pulp mill of Montes del Plata in Punta Pereira, Uruguay (capacity: 1.3 million t/a eucalyptus market pulp). It was agreed not disclose the order value; however typical order values of comparable reference projects are between 750-800 million Euros.

Montes del Planta, the joint venture between Stora Enso and Chilean company Arauco, has received the environmental permit for its planned pulp mill project in Uruguay.

Helsinki, Finland, 21 Dec 2010 – UPM has prepaid all of the Uruguay Fray Bentos pulp mill investment project loans of USD 372 million. The security arrangements relating to the project loans will be released. The prepayment reduces financing costs and simplifies the Group's financing structure.
