Three major events related to forestry and climate change start today.

The conference “Carbon Forestry 2011” organized by Forest Industry Engineering Association/Innovatek Ltd takes place at the Crowne Plaza, Auckland, New Zealand. The event will cover the current state of the market, the legislative activity affecting carbon markets, what carbon trading is, investment opportunities in carbon forestry, risk mitigation strategies that can be employed to ensure the success of forestry carbon projects and case studies from forestry companies that have participated in some of the earlier trading in carbon credits.

The 5th UN-REDD Viet Nam Programme Executive Board Meeting organized by UN-REDD Vietnam Programme is held at Flower Garden Hotel, Ha Noi, Vietnam. This is chaired by H.E. Hua Duc Nhi, Vice Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development,   H.E. Eamonn Murphy, Interim Resident Coordinator of United Nation in Viet Nam and H.E. Stale Torstein Risa, Ambassador, Norwegian Embassy.
