UNFCCC Releases Submissions on Drivers of Deforestation

23 March 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the submissions by parties on issues identified in decision 1/CP.16, paragraph 72 and appendix II, in particular on how to address drivers of deforestation and forest degradation, and on robust and transparent national forest monitoring systems as referred to in its paragraph 71(c) (FCCC/SBSTA/2012/MISC.1).
The submissions are from: Bolivia; Denmark and the European Commission, on behalf of the EU; Gambia, on behalf of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs); Honduras; Ghana; India; Indonesia; Japan; New Zealand; Norway; Pakistan; Switzerland; Lichtenstein; Monaco; and the US. In addition, the Secretariat has received one submission from the World Bank, as an intergovernmental organizations, and nine submissions from non-governmental organizations (NGOs), which have been posted on the UNFCCC website.
